Fishing Report In Key Largo

One for the books today! Chris and their crew joined us for an early morning fall offshore adventure out of Key Largo, Florida. Partly cloudy skies with strong storms possible made for interesting conditions, but the Upper Keys waters were calling. We headed out ready to tackle whatever the day would bring with Local Grown Charters and our Dive into Thrills with a 3-Hour Shark Excursion with Captain Andrew!

With our gear rigged and ready, we worked the offshore waters using a mix of trolling, bottom fishing, and jigging techniques. The bite was hot when we hooked up with a solid permit - always a prize catch in these waters! Key Largo's offshore grounds are perfect for this kind of fishing because the deep water structure and current breaks hold bait and attract predators. We wrapped up cruisin' the flats with bent rods and great memories all around!

The permit put up a solid fight and reminded us why these Upper Keys waters stay productive year-round. Bottom fishing and jigging worked well in the deeper structure, while our trolling spread covered water efficiently between spots. Even with those storm clouds building, we managed to stay on the fish and make the most of our time on the water.
